PICTURE PERFECT
The Art of Love edition by Lilac Lacey Romance eBooks
Prior to reading this book I had just finished "Picture Perfect" by the same author, which I really liked and would award 4 or 5 stars without hesitation. I did not like this one as much - whereas the other one had the art theft and kidnapping theme running through the book to add interest, there was no real 'sub-plot' at all in this one. H/h are both physically attracted to one another, there are numerous encounters in different circumstances and locations, but it's the 'big misunderstanding' right through until almost the end. The hero could have easily cleared up things many times, but chose not to. In many novels the hero is a jerk in the beginning and undergoes some sort of transformation to make him less selfish and more likable at the end. I didn't find this the case with Leo - he is 'insufferably proud' without the 'such might I still be if it wasn't for you etc ;)' bit. I found him so annoying, it spoiled the whole book for me. You don't often wish that the heroine might change her mind and go for the 'boring and kind' cousin, but here I almost did.The book is made more interesting by the art angle, although there is no deep and meaningful discussion about this here - and neither would you expect it from this type of book. However, as art is so important for the hero, you can't help hoping it would interest the heroine a bit more.. That said, the book is still a quick and fun read and lovers of regency romances are probably going to enjoy it anyway.
I've almost come to expect mistakes (grammar, punctuation, words which should have deleted etc.) in the Kindle editions and this is no exception. 2 1/2 stars.

The Art of Love edition by Lilac Lacey Romance eBooks Reviews
Enjoyed her style of writing, The characters are well developed, entertaining. Read the book @ one sitting couldn't put it down
While Leo is an artist of some demand, he hides his noble birth. Tara is an independent woman who loves flirting but will only marry if she is in love, and if she can fulfill family requirements. So Leo, who actually does meet the requirements is rejected because of a lack of information. Nevertheless, the attraction is there and well described. Both people are likable and multidimensional. No graphic sex, but some intense moments is a plus.
I enjoyed the story for the most part but if your main hero is going to be an artist you should at least know that chartreuse is a yellow-green, not red! There are other editing errors such as misused and misspelled words which are annoying, but they are not so distracting that you cannot read over them. While there is strong attraction between the characters it does not have the generally accepted graphic, explicit sex that seems to be required of most romances, which is fine with me because I prefer to use my own imagination.
